The core gameplay loop
- Explore Vale Sangora freely and uncover quests, rumors, towers and hidden locations.
- Choose which story actions deserve your limited time.
- Build separate human and vampire toolkits.
- Recruit allies, weaken Brencis’s court and shape the ending your run can reach.
Walking around does not tick a real-time timer. The tension comes when you commit to a quest step, training session or choice with a displayed time cost.

Human by day, vampire by night
| Form | Strengths | Tradeoffs |
|---|---|---|
| Human / day | Swordplay, Witchcraft, social access, investigation | Conventional traversal; different healing resources |
| Vampire / night | Claws, feeding, wall travel, Shadowstep, wolf form | Blood thirst can affect choices; some NPCs react differently |
The split is more than a palette swap. Gear, healing and abilities can change with Coen’s form, and the same quest may open a different route after sunset.

How the 30-day system actually works
After the prologue, Coen has 30 days and 30 nights to save his family. Each half-day is divided into segments. Story-relevant actions consume them; wandering, scouting and most basic travel do not.

Open world, map and enemies
Vale Sangora is a hand-built land of forests, plains, swamps, mountains, ruins and medieval settlements. Towers reveal nearby points of interest, shrines provide fast travel, and hidden treasures, monster lairs, bandit camps and haunted sites reward leaving the road.
Common launch enemies include human soldiers, wolves, boars, bears, specters and goblin-like creatures, backed by more distinctive monsters and court bosses. It is variety enough for a full run, though several reviewers felt the everyday encounters repeat too often.

Character creation, multiplayer and crossplay
Coen is a defined protagonist, not a blank-slate custom hero. You shape his build, equipment, abilities, corruption and choices, but you do not create a different lead character.
The game is single-player. There is no multiplayer mode, so crossplay does not apply.

Gameplay FAQ
Does time pass while exploring?
No. The clock advances when you commit to major story actions, training and certain choices—not from simply walking around.
Can you play as a full vampire during the day?
Coen’s human and vampiric toolkits are tied to day and night. The contrast is a central system.
Is there character creation?
No. You play as Coen, but you control his build, gear and story choices.
